I started to read about martinis, but I got bored. So, read about them if you wish. Anywho...

Around the same time that Jackie created the idea of our brewery's name she also announced that we would need to have a small, but quality, selection of martinis at this locale. While such things as "contents," and "ingredients" will be decided on at a later time. We both agreed that names would be a great guide. After a little discussion we decided upon choosing names from the towns in which we have lived.

Rhinelander = The Hodag

Virginia = The Ranger

Eau Claire = The Hill

and coming soon...
Pullman = The Palouse (this one is still experimental)

The Wanderlust Brewery

Some time ago, in the heady days of the close of the year 2006, Jackie and I decided that we should do what all the cool couples our age do, and get ourselves a home-brew kit. We justified it by making it part of our Festivus gifts to each other. And soon we discovered that it was pretty cool.
True there were hiccups along the way, but we quickly discovered that when we followed the instructions and paid attention to what we were doing, we could actually brew up a pretty decent selection suds (Just ask Nate for his opinion of our I.P.A.). We soon began crafting not only ales, but also dreams. Dreams that someday we could parlay my love of beer and Jackie's good sense into something more. Simply put; instead of giving money for beer, why not give beer for money? After all, as one great philosopher put it, "Money may be exchanged for good and services."
But neither of us has any grand experience in piloting the waters that are food & drink services. Luckily, we knew someone. Not just any someone, but one with a girlfriend, a dog, and an apartment. One who stated that should the day come where our dreams appear to have some viability in the real world, he would gladly step forth and show how it's all done. In retrospect, he's less of a man, more of a folk hero.
And so the months passed, from the thick stouts of winter, to the sunny ales of spring and onto the sweet weisses (weissi?) of summer. And finally a name emerged. A name fully formed on Jackie's lips:
The Wanderlust Brewery
...And so there it was.

It may take us years to get there. But here is a start. Throw out some ideas. Get some feed back from Nate (a.k.a. The Maestro) and others. And we'll see what we can come up with. And hell if along the way we get a little sidetracked on other topics, that's cool too.
